Sydney, Cody, TJ, Jake and Lexi

It’s not often we get the chance to feature 5 dogs all at the same time! These wonderfully different dogs are all siblings. Not only do they all look different but they all have such unique personalities. Sydney the black and tan mini pinch is the ring leader of the crew. Jake the white one with dark spots is the more cool and collected of the bunch, he usually lays back and goes with the flow. Cody the grey chi is the nervous nelly but once he gets cozy with you he is the most affectionate of them all. Lexi the tiny black chi is in my opinion the mastermind, she pretends to be the quiet and reserved but you can see she’s just hanging back and plotting. ;) TJ the white chi with tan spots is the teenager of the bunch, spunky and wild and always fun!

Never Start a Walk Without Eye Contact

Are you walking your dog or imitating a caboose on a train? Sometimes problems with pulling on leash start before the walk even begins. If you cannot get your dog’s attention something else has it, and chances are your dog is going to pull toward whatever that might be.

Never start a walk without eye contact. Moreover, make sure your name recognition is effective in the face of distractions. Practice getting your dog’s attention outside, before you start your walk.

Last Chance for Layla (please help or at least re-post/tweet!)

Layla AKA Nubia is a black lab mix. She is only one and a half years old and loves other dogs. She was left behind when her owners got a divorce and moved. Yep, they just left her behind like a piece of garbage. She was left all alone for a few days until the landlord discovered what had happened…

Last night, the landlord informed me that she is staying all by herself in one of his vacant apartments. He goes over there a couple of times a day to feed her and walk her but that is it.

I just received another phone call from the landlord telling me that he has to get rid of her today and that if I can’t find a foster/forever home for her today, he is taking her to the shelter.

If you can foster just for a little while, I will pay for her food and for her to get spayed and help you every step of the way until she finds a forever home. This poor girl does not deserve to live the rest of her days in a shelter! We all know large black dogs don’t stand a chance at shelters…

If you can help please contact Melanie at 305-746-9850 or  tal790@aol.com
